Inquisitive Minds Want to Know…

1. How much should I expect to pay for a FLAVOUR cake?

The individualized nature of the work performed is such that no two cakes will be same either in construction or price structure.  In regards to wedding cakes, the final cost is largely dependent on the degree of detail executed and the number of servings required.  As a result, a quote will be provided after a complimentary consultation where the vision for your cake will be discussed.  Wedding cakes are priced from $400 and up.

2. Does FLAVOUR offer special event cakes and cupcakes?

Yes.  Specialty sculpted cakes start at $130 and all other smaller event cakes will vary, again dependent on detail and the number of servings.  Please note that as of April 1, 2011 there is a $100 minimum order on all celebration cakes.

FLAVOUR also offers a variety of cupcakes for both weddings and special events.  Cupcakes currently start from $2.50 per serving and require a minimum order of 24.  Stand rentals are not included in this cost.

3. Do you require a deposit?

A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required on all wedding orders with the remaining balance due two weeks before the event date.  FLAVOUR currently accepts payment by cash or cheque.

Deposits are not required on special event cakes and cupcakes, however, full payment is required when services are rendered.

4. Do you provide delivery and set-up?

Delivery and set-up of custom wedding orders is provided, however, a nominal fee of $40 is charged for time and travel expense to deliver your wedding cake, cupcakes or cake pops in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph and the immediate surroundings areas.  Areas outside of this region are subject to higher delivery fees and are quoted on an individual basis.

5. How far ahead should I place my order?

Ideally, custom wedding orders should be placed 6-8 months in advance as availability during the busy wedding season is limited to ensure that each cake receives maximum attention to detail.

Special event cakes generally require 3-4 weeks notice, but may require lead time of up to 8 weeks depending on the season.  With that said, some orders may be accommodated in a shorter period of time.  Please enquire for further information.

6. Will you replicate a cake that I saw in a magazine or on another artist’s site?

Although the inspiration for your cake may come from a publicized photograph, your FLAVOUR cake will not be an exact representation of that image in order to preserve the original artist’s creativity.  Where at all possible, a completely distinct piece would be preferred.

In addition, you may see a piece from FLAVOUR’s past work that you adore.  Please respect that each cake has been created with a specific client in mind, just as you are unique and deserve a cake with your own personal imprint.
